My scrap pile was getting out of control. I couldn't throw away perfectly good yarn. But I didn't have enough to yarn to make cute little granny squares. So I started this scrap-ghan. There was somewhat of a pattern in the beginning, but not anymore.

The fun part is looking back at the various yarns and remembering the items I made, or where I bought the yarn. And can you believe my kids are fighting over who gets to keep it? It belongs to me...duh.

My first Granny Square

When I was in the fourth grade, I started my first afghan. Unfortunately I didn't know I should have bought all the yarn I needed at one time. I bought the same brand of blue yarn every time I went shopping, but the shade didn't quite match when I got home. I was so disappointed with my little project. I hid this blanket in my closet for years. Only pulling it out on a really cold night.

Looking at my blanket now, it doesn't look too bad
. I kinda like the subtle changes of blue. And I'm proud to say I made it myself!
